New train with high demands

The well-known OEM was developing a new train. One of the critical parts was a new anti-roll device that holds the bridge-wagons in a stable position, preventing tilting. The anti-roll devices are positioned above the cars, and the demands on the bearings are high. They need to provide long maintenance intervals despite water and dirt contamination, significant temperature fluctuations and years of exposure to the sun.

It is not always clear what design is best, what sliding material to pick, or what seals, coatings or materials work best for a given application.
