The main operations of an ordinary survey are as follows:
.A thorough inspection of the wheelset (before cleaning it) to detect the shift of the hub on the axle, cracks in the middle part of the axle and on individual parts of the wheel center, tired or wheel. These malfunctions are easier to detect in a wheelset that has not been cleaned of dirt;
.Cleaning the wheelset from oil and dirt;
.Flaw detection of journals and pre-hub parts of the axis, which makes it possible to detect invisible transverse cracks in them;
.Checking the dimensions of all elements of the wheelset and their compliance with the established tolerances;
.Checking the middle part of the axle with a flaw detector (when repairing a wheelset).
