Roller bearings should be stored in a clean and dry room at a temperature not lower than -10°. Sudden fluctuations in temperature are not allowed. Dust, moisture, smoke and acid vapors should not penetrate into the room. Transportation and storage of bearings must exclude the possibility of mechanical damage. Bearings intended for storage are pre-coated with grease, wrapped in parchment paper and placed in clean, closed cabinets. It is advisable to store new bearings coming from factories in their original packaging.
The axle box compartment is designed to check the condition and repair the axle boxes, axle boxes and labyrinth rings, which are transferred to this compartment after cleaning.
