Currently, bogies with cast steel sidewalls and belt bogies run under wagons. Compared with the latter, the former has greater strength and operational reliability, while the labor intensity of maintenance is significantly reduced. Belt bogies were again not produced and in recent years were gradually replaced by bogies with cast sidewalls during wagon repairs.
When removing bogies with cast sidewalls, the brake levers are disconnected from the spacer bars and dead center brackets, and the brake shoe suspension rollers are secured and knocked out. After that, with the help of a crane, the support beam is lifted and the spring kit removed. Then, through the wide openings in the side walls, the support beams are removed and the side walls thinned out to the sides. The disassembled parts of the trolley are sent to the washing machine, and the wheelset is sent to the wheel workshop. After cleaning, repair the parts of the cart.
Wear and damage of bogie components is mainly due to insufficient effective depreciation of the spring sets for dynamic loads, different spring rates, different diameters of wheel sets in one bogie and other defects that cause the car to run restlessly and deteriorate the quality of the bogie sidewalls and bolsters interaction.
