Cylindrical roller wheel set bearings are separable and non-self-retaining bearings. There are many different design structures, which are distinguished by the number and arrangement of ribs. The most common design combinations are WJ and WJP. In addition, two WJ type bearings are rarely used in combination, and WJ type is rarely used in combination with WU type bearings equipped with HJ angle rings.
The outer ring of the WJ type bearing has two fixed ribs, and the inner ring has a fixed rib.
The outer ring of the WU bearing has two fixed ribs. The inner ring has no ribs. By installing an angle ring (HJ) on the WU type bearing, the bearing can be combined into a support bearing. The outer ring of WJP type bearing has two fixed ribs, and the inner ring has a movable retaining ring. Cylindrical roller wheel set bearings can be supplied with cylindrical or tapered holes. In addition to the standard tapers 1:12 and 1:30, the K4 taper used by Deutsche Bahn is also included.
